Spesoft Video to DVD is a video converter for Windows. It allows you to convert your video files into DVD movies. The application uses a wizard to guide you through the process, which is not hard at all. I wouldn't say this is a DVD authoring application mainly because it only converts your file. It doesn't let you create any menus or modify the video in any way.
The wizard starts by prompting you to add the file or files that you want to add to your compilation. Right there, you can change the aspect ratio of the video from 4:3 to 16:9 (widescreen) and vice versa. The next step lets you choose the video format (NTSC or PAL) and the quality of the video. There are five different quality levels, and they are well explained. After these two steps, the application starts converting the file to the selected format. And then, if you want to, you can burn it to a blank DVD disk using a built-in DVD burner. If you don't burn the movie, you will still have the VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive, which you can later burn to a DVD, or play on most video players.
